Spiritual Intelligence: The Strength Of Israel Will Not Lie Nor Relent!

But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore.

So Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.”

The plan of God for humanity cannot be delayed or held to ransom by man, governments, institutions or spiritual forces. Hence He boldly declared through the prophet Samuel at a time when it seemed like all was over; “the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.” Although these words were directed to king Saul, ultimately dear friends, it was an edict to the kingdom of darkness at a time when the devil thought he had scored vital points against God. At a time when the host of hell thought they had succeeded in derailing the plan of God for our redemption!

Good morning friends. In the spirit of types, shadows, metaphors and symbols, our opening passage prophetically points to the rejection of our lord Jesus by His own, and the new covenant with non Jews (Gentiles). In the writings of John, Jesus is described as the word that was made flesh, that dwelt among men. With this in mind we have a better understanding of Samuel’s statement;

I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.

So John continued in the spirit of prophecy and revelation;

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And in the spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving, I join the host of heaven in worship singing a new song ;

“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”

Spiritual Intelligence: Our Passover

For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

The first feast of Passover was instituted as the last great sign before the Israelites left Egypt, and out of the bonds of slavery. After a long and drawn negotiation, and display of power between Moses, Aaron and the Egypt priests, this feast was the last showdown in Egypt. On that night, the souls of every Egyptian firstborn were taken by the Angel of Death. But every house where the Blood of the Lamb was sprinkled had immunity from judgement and death. For the Angel of Death had instructions to Passover!

Good morning friends. The Bible is interpreted using types, shadows and symbols. So we understand that occurrences in the Old Testament are not in isolation, but they were types, symbols, metaphors or shadows of things fulfilled in the New Testament, and things to come. With that as a backdrop, let’s have a quick look at the seven feasts in the Jewish calendar, and their significance to God’s plan for our redemption.

The Spring Feasts, four in total; Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits and the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost.

Their symbols:
– Passover – Death of Jesus Christ
– Feast of Unleavened Bread – Burial of Jesus Christ
– Feast of First Fruits – Resurrection of Christ
– Pentecost – Descent of the Holy Spirit, and Birth of the Church

The Fall Feasts, three in total; Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles are yet to be fulfilled. See below their prophetic significance.
– Feast of the Trumpets – Rapture of the Church
– Feast of Atonement – Second Coming of Jesus Christ
– Feast of Tabernacles – Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ

So back to my opening texts, Jesus Christ is the sacrificial lamb. This is confirmed by many scriptures including John’s statement when Jesus appeared on the scene;

Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

And in the words of Isaiah;
Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Dear friends I pray that you do not miss your place in eternity. So, come today. Come as you are, come and be set free, come and find rest.
