This Sunday at Healingsprings fellowship!

Our Big Sunday Celebration can be best described as a community Christian festival. So in the spirit of thanksgiving, together we: sing, pray, give, celebrate life, discuss current affairs, present thoughts from Biblical themes, and encourage one another; like one big family!

In the movie, The Matrix, there is a brilliant scene where Morpheus presents Neo with the choice of a red or blue pill. The Blue pill take it’s host through the path of blissful ignorance (The Illusion of Ignorance), while the Red pill leads it’s host through tough, hard, rugged terrains (The Truth of Reality).

Rewind back thousands of years before the movie, and we faced with a similar question by a famous king. Overwhelmed with too much information like we are today, Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?”

With this in mind, this Sunday’s lecture is entitled ‘Destiny: Red or Blue Pill?

So why not drop-in for a life-changing experience? This 90 mins might end up being a catalyst for some awesome things.

Spiritual Intelligence: The Truth, The Pain, And the Lies

“In order to be effective truth must penetrate like an arrow — and that is likely to hurt.” ~ Wei Wu Wei

Good morning friends. With this as backdrop, let us now consider the scriptures below:

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

Some heated arguments transpired as it drew closer to Jesus’ death. Most stemmed from the apparent divide among his audience; there were those who believed, those who were unsure, and those who disbelieved his ministry. To give you an idea of the nature of these tussles, at one point a group of leaders walked up to Him and asked, “Tell us, by what authority do you do these things?”, for many took offence at His demonstration of authority, wisdom and power.

The truth pierced through their evil hearts, and like in the case of Stephen when they had to close their ears to what he was saying before he was dragged and stoned to death; they could not bear the voice of Jesus any longer. Paul explains it this way:

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Dear friends, like today their evil hearts found the truth unbearable, It exposed them for who they were inspite of their best efforts to fit in. They could not allow the truth to penetrate like an arrow, they could not bear the pain. The pain of change, the pain of transformation, the birth pangs of eternal life.
