Spiritual Intelligence: Divine Expedition

Expedition can be defined as promptness or speed in doing something.

With this definition, let’s consider the following verses from the prophet Amos:

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, And the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, And all the hills shall flow with it.

The prophet was given a snippet into a season in the future where the stages of human awakening will witness a paradigm shift. An era when time, season and energy becomes immaterial as the Spirit of Grace, and the Spirit of Prayer sweeps over the nations of the world. As prophesied by the prophet Zechariah, the Spirit of Grace will cause an awakening, then the people will suddenly recognise Jesus Christ, and this revelation will become the catalyst for the Spirit of Prayer. In fact, these series of events are not the slightest dissimilar to prophet Isaiah’s epiphany in the year king Uzziah died, when suddenly his spirit was quickened and he said:

Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts

In the same vain a sudden realisation of our spiritual state if you please, which stirs up supplication to the almighty God!

The analogy used to convey Amos’ vision was a farming process. The main players are the plowman, the sower, and the reaper or treader. Each one with a clear task for the end goal – a bountiful harvest. Before we move any further, we also need to understand from Jesus’ parable of the sower that the soil denotes the spirits or souls of humanity, and the seed is God’s word. So, with that in mind, let’s run through the basic task of each subject and see how it relates to some spiritual truths.

The plowman: He initiates the process by preparing the soil. This is a labour intensive exercise which involves breaking, nourishing and moistening the soil. This is the role of prayer. Intercessory prayers creates superhighways for God to move – it always precede any major move of God.

The Sower: Once the soil is prepared, the sower goes out to disperse the seeds. These are those believers that go about their everyday life with the gospel as their focal point. They share God’s word by creating new opportunities, and using any opportunity at their disposal. They reach out to anyone they come in contact with, sharing the good news of the kingdom.

The Reaper: This is the one that gathers the crops, prepares and stores them up for sales or replanting. These are those who provide support to the new believers that were earlier prepared through prayers, and have received the word of God. This process is accomplished through discipleship (a process which incorporates mentoring, coaching and an informal apprenticeship programme), either in an organisational setting or through the use of modern technology.

Dear friends, by a spiritual process re-engineering we will begin to witness divine expedience and exponential harvest in the great commission, even as we draw close to the end of time. A move that defiles human convention, one that is truly supernatural. A time when the sweet wine of The Lord will flow from mount Zion (the city of God), to the hills of nations of the earth.

With this in mind, I pray that we will be counted worthy to labour in this coming harvest. Amen.

Spiritual Intelligence: Grace And Supplication FM

And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Good morning friends. Allow me to submit to you that there are unseen forces that influence the affairs of humankind. This interaction can be compared to that of radio waves, and a radio. The radio picks up its signal and relays broadcasts based on the band and frequency it’s tuned into. So, even though we can’t see these waves with our eyes, they are present.

In the same vain, the human spirit can be influenced by either good or evil forces. Our spiritual orientation is the catalyst that attracts and connects to either signals. For instance, a healthy spirit picks up and broadcasts good signals, it is tuned-up through; prayer, meditation and self-discipline.

Once set, we just turn the radio on and we are connected to the programmes on the channel. This remains constant if the signals are not hijacked and our geographic location remains the same. When we shift geography as a result of fear, doubt, unbelief, disappointment, despair, frustration, pain etc., we just need to gather some strength like Samson, check the bandwidth and start tuning until relocate our channel!

With this in mind, let us rewind back to our opening verses. In these passages of scriptures, the prophet Zechariah speaks about the launch of a new radio station. One I would like to brand Grace and Supplication FM. Its frequency will be advertised to the people of God, and once they follow the instructions they will track the signals, and begin to transmit programmes led by the spirit of grace, and the spirit of supplication.
Once this starts, they will be drivers for change and transformation as we draw close to end of time. In the words of the psalmist:

Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power; in the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth.

So, in the day of these broadcasts, God’s people shall voluntarily yield themselves to be used of God through the spirit of grace, and the spirit of supplication.
