Spiritual Intelligence: The Strength Of Israel Will Not Lie Nor Relent!

But Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore.

So Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.”

The plan of God for humanity cannot be delayed or held to ransom by man, governments, institutions or spiritual forces. Hence He boldly declared through the prophet Samuel at a time when it seemed like all was over; “the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.” Although these words were directed to king Saul, ultimately dear friends, it was an edict to the kingdom of darkness at a time when the devil thought he had scored vital points against God. At a time when the host of hell thought they had succeeded in derailing the plan of God for our redemption!

Good morning friends. In the spirit of types, shadows, metaphors and symbols, our opening passage prophetically points to the rejection of our lord Jesus by His own, and the new covenant with non Jews (Gentiles). In the writings of John, Jesus is described as the word that was made flesh, that dwelt among men. With this in mind we have a better understanding of Samuel’s statement;

I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.

So John continued in the spirit of prophecy and revelation;

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And in the spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving, I join the host of heaven in worship singing a new song ;

“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”

Spiritual Intelligence: Donkeys Leading Lions

Donkeys Leading Lions…

This phrase has been used so many times to describe; the fate of soldiers and the politicians that lead them to senseless wars, or that of soldiers and some of the Generals that have led them in wars.

Perhaps the best possible origin can be traced to this Arabic proverb;

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep

With this as a backdrop, I hope you will agree with me that the need for leadership, and effective succession planning strategies cannot be over-emphasised. In the words of The Rabbi to His disciples;
Follow me, and I will make you… This statements my friends, graphically explains the process of discipleship. Followers are bound to be transformed and made through the process of following.

If our apprentices are not being transformed, If we are not making leaders out of ordinary everyday people, then I’m afraid we have to go back to the drawing board.

Sadly, like King Saul many have subjected the soldiers to a fast at a time when they need “the bread of life”, as a result we have too many weak believers, and very high mortality and casualty rate within our ranks.

The Rabbi said this to His audience about the leaders of their era;

Jesus replied, “Every plant not planted by my Father shall be rooted up, so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and both will fall into a ditch.”

I pray that we arise from the depths of despair, receive courage and fulfil our destiny!

Spiritual Intelligence: Appointment With Destiny

An Appointment With Destiny…

Most times destiny springs-up upon us in ways we least expect. Its almost like the bait of The Adversary creates a platform for our lifting. With Rosa Parks for instance, it was the seating arrangements on the bus on that faithful day that led to the Tipping Point!

With that thought in mind, lets invite King Saul to the stage. In his quest to seek, save and return his father’s donkeys – he encountered the prophet Samuel. This meeting led to Saul being anointed king over Israel.

They can also be more dramatic like in the case of Joseph, who was stripped of his favourite coat and sold into slavery by his siblings. That exchange however led to Joseph being the Prime Minister of Egypt, and the mastermind behind humanity’s survival in a season of famine, hunger, displacement and hyperinflation.

Friends whatever shape or form it visits you on your journeys, do make sure you; recognise, embrace and guard it with all that you have. For in it you will find inner peace, purpose and fulfilment.
