This Sunday @ Healingsprings fellowship

Having consolidated the Ecosystem (Scriptures, interpreters, and audiences), and its outworking, we advanced to Internal Resistance last Sunday.

I spoke about the Exodus from Egypt, and its significance in Judaism. In addition, I briefly introduced the concept of The New Exodus, a messianic expectation we see fulfilled in the person of Christ as illuminated in the New Testament.
This was with a view to highlight that:

  1. God is self-revealing
  2. He works in history through human agents to bring about his kingdom

  3. And that Creation is not a one-off process that was completed in Genesis, but rather a continuous process.

Hence he said to Moses:

“I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” – Exodus 3:6
As God Bearers it is important that we note that God’s purpose does not exempt us from the forces of Resistance in our efforts towards continuation of Creation, through advocating the Good News, and delivering Social Justice initiatives aimed at making God’s Kingdom a reality here on earth as it is in heaven.
Join us as we explore Internal Resistance.

This Sunday @ Healingsprings fellowship

The Exodus from Egypt is pivotal in Judaism. It introduces the concept of a self-revealing God who acts in history, hence he said to Moses:

“I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” – Exodus 3:6
So, having consolidated the Ecosystem (Scriptures, interpreters, and audiences), and its working, we advanced to Resistance last Sunday.
Quoting Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion, I noted in my talk that in between vision or ideas, and their material reality, there must be Resistance.
And that a lack of understanding and appreciation of the existence and effects of this force leads to frustration, and possibly, total abandonment.
I asserted further that the reorientation and spiritual emancipation of this World will only come by forcefully challenging the evil and oppressive power structures of our time, until we see God’s will on earth as in heaven.(Matthew 6:10)
Today I will be expounding on the New Exodus, and the Resistance upon us as God Bearers, in our efforts towards advancing the Good News, and making God’s Kingdom a reality here on earth, as it is in heaven.

Spiritual Intelligence: Our Passover

For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

The first feast of Passover was instituted as the last great sign before the Israelites left Egypt, and out of the bonds of slavery. After a long and drawn negotiation, and display of power between Moses, Aaron and the Egypt priests, this feast was the last showdown in Egypt. On that night, the souls of every Egyptian firstborn were taken by the Angel of Death. But every house where the Blood of the Lamb was sprinkled had immunity from judgement and death. For the Angel of Death had instructions to Passover!

Good morning friends. The Bible is interpreted using types, shadows and symbols. So we understand that occurrences in the Old Testament are not in isolation, but they were types, symbols, metaphors or shadows of things fulfilled in the New Testament, and things to come. With that as a backdrop, let’s have a quick look at the seven feasts in the Jewish calendar, and their significance to God’s plan for our redemption.

The Spring Feasts, four in total; Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits and the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost.

Their symbols:
– Passover – Death of Jesus Christ
– Feast of Unleavened Bread – Burial of Jesus Christ
– Feast of First Fruits – Resurrection of Christ
– Pentecost – Descent of the Holy Spirit, and Birth of the Church

The Fall Feasts, three in total; Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles are yet to be fulfilled. See below their prophetic significance.
– Feast of the Trumpets – Rapture of the Church
– Feast of Atonement – Second Coming of Jesus Christ
– Feast of Tabernacles – Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ

So back to my opening texts, Jesus Christ is the sacrificial lamb. This is confirmed by many scriptures including John’s statement when Jesus appeared on the scene;

Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

And in the words of Isaiah;
Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Dear friends I pray that you do not miss your place in eternity. So, come today. Come as you are, come and be set free, come and find rest.
