Introducing Healingsprings fellowship’s Seminars

Starting this Sunday we will be running seminars to further explore topics covered at the previous Sunday’s lecture.

These events replaces the Friday Home Group, serving as a platform in moving the vision to its next phase.

Seminars will take the shape of a 15-20mins recap, group based exercises, and feed back sessions.

We are currently studying the Old Testament, in particular, the biblical figure Moses. So, with the understanding that the Old Testament was written retrospectively as a means of galvanising a people towards a metaphysical and physical identity, and most importantly, towards nationhood; seminar questions will be centred broadly around the following theme:

  • what were the redactors trying to convey through the story?
  • how did the story serve the community in their nation building project?
  • what lessons can we deduce from the story?

Core text: Exodus 1-3 (NRSV)

Community Bible Experience: New Testament, the Book of Mark

We started The Book of Mark last week, one of the accounts of the life of Jesus. We discussed who he was; who his audience was; possible reasons behind his writing; and other questions using our weekly agenda.

This week we progress on to pages 330-341, so join us if you can, or meet with friends and family.

Community Bible Experience operates like a Reading Club…

Participants agree a weekly reading plan, then every Friday we meet in a relaxed fashion for an hour to discuss the following simple questions:

  • What’s something you noticed for the first time?
  • What questions did you have?
  • Was there anything that bothered you?
  • What did you learn about loving God?
  • What did you learn about loving others?

Afterwards, we enjoy light refreshments while we catchup, pray, challenge, and encourage each other.

We recommend a copy of The Books of The Bible by Biblica because of it’s contemporary design and translation, and we set ourselves a weekly target to read eleven pages.

  • (7:00 – 8:00)pm on Fridays
  • 52 Arcadian Avenue, Bexley, Kent DA5 1JW

If you need help with setting one up in your home, community space, church or perhaps offices; please get in touch!

Community Bible Experience: New Testament, The Book of Mark

After an awesome time studying the wealth of wisdom found in the book of James, we continue our journey through the New Testament to Mark’s account of Jesus. Who is Mark? Who was he writing to? What were the possible reasons behind his writing? These and many more questions will be discussed during the course of our meeting.

So, join us today if you can, or read it with friends and family. We will be discussing and taking questions from pages 319-330 of The Books of the Bible, New Testament; by Biblica!>/h2>
