Why do you say, O Jacob,
And speak, O Israel:
“My way is hidden from the Lord,
And my just claim is passed over by my God”? Have you not known?
Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Wow! Some really reassuring words.
Good morning friends. In my experience there have been moments when I feel weary, times when I have staggered, times when I couldn’t see the woods from the trees. These are times of doubt, frustration, disappointments, unbelief, despair… Times when I just feel like hiding under my duvet, times when I feel under the weather, times when I feel physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted.
Therefore, faith and knowledge in a supreme being who neither slumber nor sleeps, one who neither faints or goes weary; gives me the courage to keep pressing on when I hit hard times. So, because of His almightiness; we can sleep knowing He neither slumbers nor sleep, we can ask for our strength to be renewed when we are tired and weary.
The key to drinking from this fountain of life dear friends is our positioning. In order to receive from Him, we need to be within the right; dimension, space and time. It was said of John the Baptist, that he was in the wilderness until the time of his showing. The wilderness was a place of obscurity, a place of preparation where he had God’s undivided attention; a place of refuge from the storms of life, the psalmist called it – the secret place of the most high. So, locate those coordinates and lock-in accordingly for your time of refreshing!
In the words of king David:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever. Amen.
