Having consolidated the Ecosystem (Scriptures, interpreters, and audiences), and how it works, we will progress to Resistance this Sunday.
I submit to you that in between vision or ideas and their material reality, there is Resistance. A lack of understanding and appreciation of the existence and effects of this force leads to frustration and total abandonment. Hence Paul declared:
“But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.” – Hebrews 10:39
And Jesus warned his disciples,
“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.” – Matthew 11:12
The reorientation and spiritual emancipation of this World will only come by forcefully challenging the evil and oppressive power structures of our time, until we see,
“justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” Amos 5:24
That said, history warns us that this struggle is never easy, but one we can not avoid, or afford to miss. Hence Paul refers to it as, “The good fight of faith” – (1 Tim 6:12).
God is on our side. So in the end, good will always triumph over evil.
