Spiritual Intelligence: Peradventure

Peradventure… [Uncertainty or doubt as to whether something is the case]

A real life example of this word in play can be captured in the story of the four lepers at the gates of Samaria.

These men were not allowed into the city because of their infirmity, so they made do in a shack at the gates; living on alms from anyone that was kind enough to help. Hours, days, months and years passed and their situation didn’t change. They had their occasional bursts of highs – but mostly it was mired by pain, shame and suffering.

Amidst the siege of the city by the Arameans which led to an economic apocalypse, they were pressed to either; remain where they were or move by faith into enemy territories Peradventure they find food. So they said to one another;

Why sit we here until we die? If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

They hatched a Peradventure Strategy, in-spite of the odds against them and they followed through accordingly.

As destiny would have it their actions paid off, by divine intervention, overnight the armies deserted leaving all their spoils and supplies. The lepers were now left with all; so they secured theirs before passing-on the good news to the king who was so relieved at the turn of events. The fortunes of a nation had turned a corner; they had not only been delivered, they were also compensated!

Friends most times all we need is a glimmer in order to step out. If we sit waiting for the perfect moment, we might not manifest those treasures within.

The universe is waiting for you to emerge.
