TED-Ed Club (Sundays, September 2nd – November 25th 2018)

Today @ Healingsprings fellowship

Goldin (2014) defines human capital as the stock of knowledge, habits, social and personality attributes, including creativity, embodied in the ability to perform labour so as to produce economic value.

This is pertinent because the main thrust of Healingsprings fellowship is human capital development. In other words, helping people harness and maximise potentials.

In the spirit of this goal we will be working in collaboration with TED in delivering a TED-Ed Club in Bexley.

This will take the shape of a 13-session programme to help participants develop skills in critical thinking, research, and public speaking.

Young people between the ages of 11-18 will have the opportunity to identify their passion, chose their idea and deliver a talk.

Talks will be recorded and uploaded to the TED’s YouTube platform, with the opportunity to attend their youth event in New York!

On the last session parents and friends will have the opportunity to see the best 3 talks and enjoy light refreshments as part of our celebratory event.

Although this programme is free, parents still have to register their interest via text, or an email: clem@healingsprings.org.uk.

We are looking to recruit only 20 participants for this pilot, so get in touch to secure your space.

We also have exciting opportunities for young people that do not fall within the age bracket as volunteers. We are looking to recruits 5 volunteers to assist with coordination, video recording and editing. As well as useful skills, a project with TED-Ed Club will be brilliant on your CV.

Join us at 3pm today for an overview of the project, following which I will be treating questions.
