Starting this Sunday we will be running fortnightly seminars to offer you the opportunity to further explore Sunday lectures through questions and discussion with your peers.
This event replaces the Friday Home Group, serving as a platform in moving the vision to its next phase.
Seminars will take the shape of a (15-20)mins recap, introduction of seminar questions, group based discussions, presentation, and feed back.
We are currently studying the Old Testament, in particular, the biblical figure Moses.
So, with the understanding that the Old Testament was written retrospectively as a means of galvanising a people towards a metaphysical and physical identity, and most importantly, towards nationhood; seminar questions will be centred broadly around the following theme:
- what were the redactors trying to convey through the story?
- how did the story serve the community in their nation building project?
- what lessons can we deduce from the story?
- examples of people today that have exemplified similar qualities
