Having consolidated the Ecosystem (Scriptures, interpreters, and audiences), and its outworking, we advanced to Internal Resistance last Sunday.
I spoke about the Exodus from Egypt, and its significance in Judaism. In addition, I briefly introduced the concept of The New Exodus, a messianic expectation we see fulfilled in the person of Christ as illuminated in the New Testament.
This was with a view to highlight that:
- God is self-revealing
-
He works in history through human agents to bring about his kingdom
-
And that Creation is not a one-off process that was completed in Genesis, but rather a continuous process.
Hence he said to Moses:
“I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” – Exodus 3:6
As God Bearers it is important that we note that God’s purpose does not exempt us from the forces of Resistance in our efforts towards continuation of Creation, through advocating the Good News, and delivering Social Justice initiatives aimed at making God’s Kingdom a reality here on earth as it is in heaven.
Join us as we explore Internal Resistance.
