This Sunday (7th June): the Church and the next generation.
In my opinion no scripture best demonstrates God’s plan for faith succession better than prophet Malachi’s edict in Malachi 2:15:
You were united to your wife by the Lord. In God’s wise plan, when you married, the two of you became one person in his sight. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. Therefore, guard your passions! Keep faith with the wife of your youth.
Godly children, yet this generation epitomise the life of Samson as captured in the book of judges: unlimited power and narcissism.
Evidently dear friends the devil has sown weeds among our wheat (Matthew 13:25-30). As a result, like Samson, the grace at their disposal is overshadowed by their passion for the gifts at the expense of the Giver.
We know from the Bible and history that this is not healthy for them, and most importantly, not sustainable for the church; so what can be done?
Do we like king Hezekiah settle for ‘peace in our time’, or like Nehemiah, sound the alarm and fight for this generation and the next?
We have decided to go with the latter.
Please join us for prayers this Sunday as we set the battle in array for our children, and their children’s children.
