Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith
Good morning friends. Supplies for God’s kingdom on earth has always been an area where the devil’s assault has been heavily targeted over the years. His strategy is to stop the good news and charity from being spread by limiting their coverage and visibility. He understands that once the resources (human, physical and financial) are capped; the programme will be contained, and ultimately the impact will either be significantly reduced or nullified.
Therefore, we need to understand our place in the grand scheme of things; our role in the local church, and how it impacts our community and God’s plan for the redemption of humanity.
In the first commandment we are told:
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
So dear friends, in God’s term it’s all or nothing. We are commanded to immerse our heart, soul, mind and strength into God’s kingdom; and to extend that love to our neighbours. With this in mind, let us go back to our opening verses as I believe we are now better placed to understand the context, motive and importance of these verses from Paul’s letter to friends in Galatia.
On this year’s Father’s Day, just imagine the impact of our adherence to our heavenly Father’s charge….
