Spiritual Intelligence: Race to Grace

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Jesus’ dialogue with the woman at the well is so beautiful. I think it demonstrates His place as our High Priest. In the words of the writer of the book of Hebrews, one that can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities. One that recognises and understands our; shortcomings, challenges, weaknesses, and inadequacies. One that can see through our motives, one that sees beyond our humanity, one that sees beyond the various masks and facades we use to hide our shame, pain and suffering.

Good morning friends. I submit to you this morning that God now seeks true worshipers, and the criteria for recruitment is our capacity for spirit worship, and I’m happy to say that its opened to all since we are all spirit beings. In his discussion with this woman, Jesus unveils to us the transition from race to grace. Through His death, His marriage with the nation of Israel is finally nullified. In spite of her unfaithfulness and serial adultery over the years, God had remained faithful. This affirms His description as a covenant keeping God! To strengthen this position, He spoke through Balam saying:

God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

His death at the cross opens up the possibility of a new marriage, one that is spiritual; opened to all regardless of their race, one that transcends time and space. These spirit filled people that He now marries are the called out ones, widely known as The Church, The Bride or The Body of Christ. They have been separated onto Him, and they are His. Dear friends, He is faithful; He loves, provides, and protects all those who freely come under His covering.
