Spiritual Intelligence: Call For Jephthah!

The name Jephthah means; The Lord opens, The Lord frees, or The Lord expands. All three words are related and can be interchanged depending on context – open, free, expand!

For eighteen years the people of God suffered oppression and adversity because they forsook Jehovah for alien gods. But when they realised their apostasy, they turned back to The Lord in confession and prayer, they destroyed the evil alters, consecrated and re-dedicated their lives back to their maker and provider.

Once they were reconnected to the source of their existence, suddenly their eyes became opened to the leadership abyss of their era. For the elders said;

“Who will lead our forces against the Ammonites?” the leaders of Gilead asked each other. “Whoever volunteers shall be our king!”

Then like a brilliant western movie, the bible brings-in Jephthah – glory to God! He was introduced for his exploits and a “but” to punctuate his past;

Now Jephthah was a great warrior from the land of Gilead, but his mother was a prostitute. His father (whose name was Gilead) had several other sons by his legitimate wife, and when these half brothers grew up, they chased Jephthah out of the country. “You son of a whore!” they said. “You’ll not get any of our father’s estate.”

He was once rejected as the scum of the family, and now he returns as the man of the hour. Hah! In the words of the Psalmist, which was later emphasised by The Rabbi in its prophetic essence;

The stone rejected by the builders has now become the capstone of the arch!

Today destiny calls my friends. Destiny calls for Jephthahs to lead God’s armies against the oppression of our adversary the devil. I pray you answer His call and lock into a more meaningful and purposeful life! Receive the commission to; open, free-up and expand God’s kingdom on planet earth.
