He that is down, need fear no fall ~ John Bunyan
John Bunyan was a 17th Century Writer and Preacher. His most notable work the beautiful classic, The Pilgrim’s Progress.
Among his momentary light afflictions, he was classed as a dissenter, refused ordination, as a result unlicensed to preach the Good News. To compound matters, he was also imprisoned for twelve years. Wow, I love his CV – just the kind of guy I like to hang-out with!
In the words of The Rabbi;
Yes, indeed! I tell you that unless a grain of wheat that falls to the ground dies, it stays just a grain; but if it dies, it produces a big harvest.
Friends, John Bunyan had all to live for, but like John The Baptist he was not a reed shaken by the winds of his time! So I pray that eyes of our understanding is enlightened, so that we may know the hope of our calling.
