“Money is useless for me, it doesn’t buy you anything because there’s nothing to buy.” The comment of one of the survivors of Typhoon Haiyan.
As well as taking time out to pray for victims and their families, and seeking opportunities to help, I also take great care to listen to the perspectives of survivors. In their darkest hour they realise the brevity of life, leading to questions that spark a spiritual awakening.
Questions like; Where do I go from here? Why did this happen? What happens when we die? Statements like; I have lost everything, Money is useless for me.
